ESSEC signs a partnership agreement with Gawad Kalinga

Tony Meloto, founder of the Filipino NGO Gawad Kalinga, came to ESSEC to participate in Engagement Week and signed a partnership agreement.

Gawad Kalinga (GK), which means to "give care" in Filipino, is officially known as the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, a Philippine-based NGO with the mission of ending poverty for 5 million families by 2024.
After a very inspirational talk with the founder to Gawad Kalinga, Tony Meloto during Engagement Week, the partnership between ESSEC and Gawad Kalinga has been signed officially to go further in ending poverty in the Philippines!
ESSEC signed a partnership agreement with the NGO to build a GK / ESSEC town in the Philippines in one of the areas most affected by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. A check of € 45,000, raised by donations from the ESSEC community, has been awarded for the construction of this village and the partnership plans to send at least 10 ESSEC volunteers to the GK village each year.
